Last night, I had an epiphery (ref: the office) : if Instagram disappeared, I’d have no online presence for my artworks, and no way to revisit my past adventures. So I added this not-so-secret section as an outdoor experience archive: a space for my physically draining side-quests. Might be useful later on for illustration and design projects, whether personal or commercial. _8.3.2025

Kaga Spa Trail Endurance 100

Ishikawa, Japan

First ultra and first international race. Ang sakit mo sa katawan! 58km. 2700+m of vert. 3 mountains. It was a HOT climb with technical descents, but managed to power through. 11:05.03. Finished just in time to avoid the deep forest section after sundown. Here are some snippets of that real-life shonen arc!

SBR Tri-Series

Season 23—25

When I started to really enjoy running (yung hindi na siya feeling parusa sa umaga), I became curious about triathlons. I had a bit of swimming background from college PE, then started biking long distances during the pandemic. After adding running to my post-pandemic hobbies, I thought it would be fun (baliw) to combine the three.

I decided to do my first multisport event with SBR because it was the least intimidating triathlon event we found online. It’s beginner-friendly and lenient when it comes to bikes. Apo Sandawa · Bansalan-Sibuyan Traverse

Second time climbing Mt. Apo. The first was back in 2019 with Chico and Karlos, nag-DIY lang kami nun, tapos ang daming nangyari.This time, I joined the Explore Mt. Apo team. Awan Igid - Batad Village Thru Hike

Training camp for Annapurna BC. A 26KM trek through the heart of Ifugao. This was one of those hikes where I got to be a joiner. The trip was organized by Yabag Mountaineers as a joint training session for their 2022 autumn expeditions in Nepal. Both the ABC and EBC teams were in the mix.

Kuya Karlos PH Bikepacking Trip

Infanta, Quezon

Bulacan – Infanta – Real. 274.28 kilometers and 3700+ vertical of biking in the Sierra Madre area. Homecoming trip namin para sa umuwing tropa. This was supposed to end at Jariel’s Peak, kaso nabitin si Karl (wack daw pag hindi namin ginawang Infanta Loop). Good thing everyone’s in perfect condition to brave this epic ride. One of the most fun long rides dahil ito lang yata yung long ride ko na lumagpas sa 4 riders yung kasama lol. Because of schedules, usually 2–3 lang kami—either 1v1 with Louise, Louise x Chico, or Chico x Ryan. Hoping to do this with my wife, siblings, and my day ones.

Manila to Pagudpud - 3 Day Bikepacking

[Pandemic Ride]

Probably my peak form in cycling. A 1v1 Vigan one-shot with Louise. A 400KM gran fondo—we managed to reach Vigan in one day. Then we stayed there for a night to rest. At the time, the pandemic was still ongoing in the Philippines, so we had to undergo swab tests whenever we crossed provincial borders.

Mountains, Maps, & Virtual Assault

My very first mountain experience was back in Grade 6 (2006), during a church youth camp. One of our activities was a trek up Mt. Makiling. We didn’t reach the summit, but it was the closest I had ever gotten, at that age, to an actual hiking experience.
