Third volume of “Selected Works”, compilation of illustrations rooted in everyday life, movement, and myth, drawing inspiration from travel, local stories, and the quiet magic found in the ordinary.
Spiderverse Fanart. 2023
Illustration of a woman fetching water at a sixteenth-century stepwell in Amer Fort (sub-city of Jaipur). As half of Rajasthan state is on dry desert soil, Panna Meena was built so the people of Amer could collect water during the dry season.
2. Hanuman in Jodhpur. 2023
A stylized illustration of Hanuman, the beloved monkey deity of India. I was inspired to draw this character after reading a children's storybook about Ramayana that I found at Mehragarh Museum during my India trip last year.
Reimagining of Monte Alba’s (present time Montalban) first expedition. This artwork imagines ancient spirits traversing the same peaks where legend says Bernardo Carpio remains trapped between Mt. Binacayan and Mt. Pamitinan. A mix of myth and memory, it reflects on the timeless pull of mountains and the stories they hold.
Made for the Weather Weather Lang Poster Show at Cebu Art Book Fair 2023, this piece responds to the theme of navigating life in the ever-shifting tropics. From unpredictable storms to chaotic crowds and inner turbulence, the show invites artists to reflect on the instability of our environment—both natural and human-made.
2. Sagarmatha (Head of the Great Blue Sky). 2023
Inspired by my trip to the Himalayas, this piece is a tribute to the quiet strength of the Sherpa people—those who move with the mountains, carrying weight few ever see. In the shadow of Sagarmatha, where the sky feels closer than the ground, I wanted to honor their resilience and grace.
*Sagarmatha is the Nepali name of Mt. Everest
Duyan ka ng Magiting
A visualization of the song lyric "duyan ka ng magiting" (cradle of noble heroes) from the Philippines' national anthem. The illustration shows three characters: Aponibolinayen, Sarangay, and a T'boli dreamweaver, representing the three major island groups of the Philippines.
I was commissioned by the Sycips to create an artwork for Raiders NFT一a blockchain-based role-playing game that lets users own NFT and use them to earn crypto tokens, digital arts, and of course, have fun. I developed three illustrations depicting the game's prologue, focusing on the life of the main antagonist Zimkaur; part one - birth, part two - awakening, and part three - the dark path.
After five years of working with vectors and tracing sketches using a mouse, I finally decided to shift gears and move to a display tablet. This new drawing process gave me the rawness I’d been looking for. This is the first volume of the collection—illustrations rooted in everyday life, movement, and myth, drawing inspiration from travel, local stories, and the quiet magic found in the ordinary.
